ZANESVILLE, OH- The second day of the Annual Bishop Fenwick Youth Basketball Tournament took place today.

The tournament lasts for three days and is for boys and girls. Schools from all over the area come to participate in the events.

“It’s our 16th annual youth tournament for grades 4 through 6, these are all school based teams, they’re representing the future of basketball programs in their particular school districts and like I said it’s our 16th year, we have 28 teams this weekend, today is wrapping up pool play and we’ll start our single elimination tournament actually this afternoon for several of the divisions with the championship games tomorrow,” said one of the tournament organizers, Ryan Bernath.

There are concessions available for each day of the tournament so you can grab a bite to eat while enjoying the games. Many of the players went over to the concession stands once their games had wrapped up.

“We played against Fairfield Union, and we won 20 to 5,” said a Tri-Valley Girls Basketball player, Hensley Williamson.

A lot of basketball players said they love participating in the tournament for many reasons.

“Just being with my team and getting to play basketball,” said a Tri-Valley Girls Basketball player, Havana Hindel, when asked about her favorite part of the tournament.

The Annual Bishop Fenwick Youth Basketball Tournament will wrap up tomorrow. They plan to host their 17th tournament around the same time in 2025.
