Festival of Trees Auction returns with 213 holiday entries

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Zanesville–Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for one of its biggest holiday traditions of the year. The 2025 Festival of Trees Auction opens at the Welcome Center and with more than 200 entries this season, organizers say the community will have plenty to choose from.
Now in its 33rd year, the auction brings together handcrafted trees, wreaths and holiday displays donated by businesses across Muskingum County. Bidders can take part in person or tune in live on AM1240 and whiznews.com. Money raised goes directly toward supporting the more than 700 local Chamber member organizations.
“The Chamber is an organization of members, member businesses, so businesses throughout Muskingum County participate in the Chamber of Commerce and this is a great way for us to celebrate all those businesses that make our community as strong as it is,” said Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce President Dana Matz.
Bidding begins at 9 a.m. and continues throughout the day, with winners announced at the end of each 15-minute segment. Shoppers can place bids by calling the Chamber’s main number, and new this year, they can also text in their offers. Items range from traditional décor to gift bundles created specifically for the event.
“Number one, it’s a wonderful way to either decorate your house or buy gifts for your family, friends, or businesses, so it’s a one stop shop if you will, so on 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. we will be live on the air on WHIZ radio, people can call in at 740-450-1990, or they can come in and bid in person,” said Matz.
