Fire destroys East Darlington home

Fire officials say a home on East Darlington is a total loss after a fire Wednesday afternoon.

The mobile home at 4025 East Darlington Road caught fire around 3:45. Firefighters say when they arrived there was heavy fire near the front door and in the living room, “Well the fire started an investigation but apparently there was a fire in the area of the living room got into the living room and pretty well destroyed everything in the living room by fire,” said Chief Allen Deaver of Newton Township Fire Department.

Six people live in the home, including two children, “There are no injuries. None of the occupants were home at the time of the fire,” said Deaver.

Newton Township Fire Department and Harrison Township Fire Department responded to the fire.
