First SpringFest in Philo to Highlight Local Businesses

PHILO, Ohio – Today the Duncan Falls and Philo Business Association held a Springfest at Philo Square.
The festival highlighted all types of local business from around 6 different counties.
Some booths had food, others sold handmade items, and there was a booth for ax throwing.
Ryan Bragland, a member of the business Association says that they hosted the event to help people get back outside.
“We want to get people out. People have been cooped up for two years, springs coming around, its a beautiful day. We’re trying to get people out and support each other’s business,” he told us.
Their hopes are to promote economic growth in the local community.
The president of the Duncan Philo Business Association, Katie Imlay, says that buying local has huge benefits.
“So many benefits of buying local. Nine times out of ten, when you buy local, your money’s stays in your local communities. If you’re buying here in Duncan Falls from one of the members of our business association, these are the people that live here, they make their life here, their families are here, they’re invested in their community,” the president told us.
The event also had realtors, and other services available to explore.
The Business Association hopes to keep growing and obtain more local business to be a part of the Springfest in the future.
