Fisher Pleads Guilty In Lighthouse Incident

A Zanesville man who was originally charged with the attempted murder of a Zanesville bartender decides to plead guilty in the case.

Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox says 29-year-old Cody Fisher is facing multiple charges including aggravated robbery, kidnapping, attempted aggravated arson and theft.

But Haddox says the attempted murder charge has been dismissed and that may have lead to the guilty plea Monday.

Sheriff Matt Lutz says on September 2nd of 2010 Fisher entered the Lighthouse Inn on Old River Road and assaulted the bartender while robbing the establishment.

Lutz says Fisher then put the female bartender in a cooler and attempted to set the bar on fire with her inside.

The bartender suffered injuries and had to be treated at a Columbus hospital.

Prosecutor Haddox says he is recommending Fisher receive a 15-year prison sentence.
