Flag Ceremony Held at Holiday Inn Express

If you happen to drive by the Holiday Inn Express in Zanesville, you might notice something a bit different.

A dedication flag ceremony was held at the hotel Friday morning. US Air Force Commander Robert Panian out of Zanesville says he was approached by hotel management about a new American Flag at the site.

"We felt no better tribute than to come out here today and commemorate and dedicate this flag to this organization and we’re honored to do that," said Panian.

The hotel also gave a check to the local air force unit which goes toward the Military’s Family Support Organization which helps take care of families while their loved ones serve overseas.

"You don’t really know what they go through. I’ve had a sister over in Operation Iraqi Freedom so they do tremendous things and its just overwhelming what they do really," said Holiday Inn Express Operations Manager Ben Caulfield.

The money came from funds raised at the Stars and Stripes fireworks this past weekend when the hotel offered its parking lot to residents to watch the show.
