Flooding in Crooksville makes people evacuate

CROOKSVILLE, Ohio- Several families were forced to evacuate from their home due to flooding.

Roseville Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Ed Guy said about 20 people at Village Green Apartments in Crooksville were forced to leave their house in the early hours of the morning. He said the families were able to seek shelter at the Crooksville Fire Department.

“Important for those folks who may have some medical needs. Of course, when they’re at the Fire Department we can assist them with any of those needs,” said Guy.

Guy said everyone who was using the fire department as a shelter has been able to leave.

“They either went to families homes or have been able to get back into their apartments. he water has gone down here in Crooksville Village so everything is moving north towards Muskingum County,” said Guy.

The Red Cross of Southeast Ohio was also able to help those displaced residents at the Crooksville Fire Department.
