Former Sheridan football standout commits to Louisville
Former Sheridan lineman Joey Palmer has verbally committed to play offensive tackle for the Louisville Cardinals.
Palmer, who currently plays for Butler Community College in Kansas, will be eligible to join Louisville in 2017.
The 2015 Sheridan grad also held offers from Cincinnati, Memphis, Alabama-Birmingham, Deleware State and Arkansas State. At 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, Palmer is excited to join a program that has won 17 games in two seasons under Bobby Petrino.
“In my opinion, they’re a slept-on ACC powerhouse,” Palmer said of Louisville. “I want to be able to win as many rings as possible because I’ve only got two years (of eligibility) of a possible four. I want to go four-for-four with two conference championships and two bowl championships.”
Palmer is the second former General to land on a major program in a six-month span. Fellow offensive tackle Tate Leavitt committed to Kentucky in December and is eligible to play for the Wildcats this season.
