Founders Day is this weekend at Ludowici Community Foundation Park

NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio – The Ludowici Community Foundation is hosting its biennial Founders Day event this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Jessie Bennett is a board member of the Ludowici Community Foundation, and she highlights what makes the event a must-do for anyone in the New Lexington area. According to Bennett, the Ludowici Community Foundation Park is a hidden gem, and an event like this helps remind the community of this recreational resource.
“It’s a major community event where everything is absolutely free. We will have bounce houses and pony rides and free food and ice cream and lots of community groups that are going to participate and set up freebies, giveaways, activities. I think we’ll have cornhole, free water, all sorts of good stuff. The weathers suppose to be great,” Bennett said.
The event is made possible with the help of sponsors like Precision Roofing. In fact, the park will be renamed on Founders Day to Precision Park in recognition of the company’s financial support for the park. Saturday will also see the reopening of the park’s splash pad.
“So our splash pad has been really popular but we have heard from our patrons that the concrete gets really slippery. So we put a new on it to make it safer for our guests and that is being worked on as we speak. And hopefully, we’ll be done on, by Saturday,” Bennett said.
The Ludowici Community Foundation Park can be found at 405 Black Gold Road in New Lexington. The foundation is also hosting a softball league pick-up games every Thursday in June and July. More information can be found on the LCF Park Facebook page.
