Free Cookies From Lifeway Church

What could be better than a huge mug of hot cocoa on a cold December day? Members of Lifeway church think free cookies!

Church members visited both Campbells and Save-A-Lot on North Maysville Avenue for the 5th annual Christmas cookie giveaway. They had one mission, and one mission only. That’s giving away free cookies.

"We call this our cookie ministry, and every year we come down to Campbells and Save-A-Lot down here in town and we just hand out free cookies to the public," said Lifeway Church Youth Minister, Michael Tacker.

They didn’t just give out one cookie to passerbyers, each person was handed a neatly wrapped plate with an assortment of holiday sweets.

"Well, it’s just a little way to give back and it just makes some peoples day," said Tacker. "We’ve already had some people tell us you know, in just the short time this morning this is the best thing that’s happened to me today. And people just smile and it makes people happy, and it’s just a little small thing but it can make such a difference."

2014 marks the 5th year of the Christmas cookie give away and members of Lifeway church say that it’s a great reminder that giving back to your community is important all year, but especially during the holiday season.
