Free Information Sessions to Discuss Medicare Advantage & Medicaid Options at Genesis

ZANESVILLE, Ohio –Community members will receive clear, unbiased information at free community sessions on actions they may need to take to ensure their Medicare Advantage and Medicaid plans are accepted at Genesis HealthCare System in 2027.

Representatives from the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) will attend the sessions and explain enrollment dates, resources and where to find trusted, unbiased help when reviewing coverage options.

Community members may attend any of the following free sessions:

• Muskingum County Welcome Center – Monday, Oct. 5, at 9:30 a.m.
• Noble Apex Event Center – Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 1:30 p.m.
• Guernsey Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center – Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m.
• Coshocton Village Inn – Monday, Nov. 2, at 9:30 a.m.
• Muskingum County Welcome Center – Thursday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m.
• Morgan County Senior Center – Monday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m.
• Perry County Senior Center – Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 9:30 a.m.

These sessions are designed for patients who have coverage through one of the insurance companies Genesis has notified that its current contracts will end on the dates listed below unless fair, new agreements can be reached:

• Aetna Medicare Advantage on Jan. 1, 2027
• Medical Mutual of Ohio Medicare Advantage on Jan. 1, 2027
• CareSource Medicare Advantage on Jan. 1, 2027
• CareSource Medicaid managed care plan on Jan. 1, 2027
• UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage on April 1, 2027

These proposed changes do not affect commercial employer-sponsored insurance or traditional Medicare Supplement plans, also known as Medigap plans.
