Free Stuff Up for Grabs

There’s not anyone that doesn’t like things that are free.

This weekend they’ll be plenty of items up for grabs at North Terrace Church of Christ’s Free Stuff Giveaway. Instead of church members having their own personal garage sales, they donate clothing, toys and electronics among other items to the church in order to help someone in need.

"It benefits our church and community on different levels. First the people in our church get to have the pleasure of just giving, then we have those that come to the actual event and like this week are setting it up and they get the benefit of serving and those that come on Saturday get the benefit of receiving," said Bill Meaige minister at North Terrace.

Meaige said it’s hard not to enjoy meeting the people that come in and it gives him a special feeling.

"It’s kind of like Christmas in July. I know on the Sunday after this event my jaws actually hurt from smiling all day because it’s just such a pleasurable experience seeing people receiving."

Saturday’s giveaway runs from 9 a.m.-Noon. No one is allowed on the church campus until 8 a.m. Anything left over will be given to Goodwill.
