Fun and Fishing Day

The Y Bridge Long Beards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Foundation hosted it’s Fifth Annual Fun and Fishing Day at Luburgh Incorporated on the East Pike.

The event allows people with special needs to be involved in all kinds of outdoor activities.

Mike Swiney, Chairman of the program says it’s "An event for people that normally can’t go out and do anything like this. They don’t have a place to go, or anybody to help them, you might have somebody that can help them, but they don’t have that help with them. We decided we’d do it. "

Swiney believes the program is so successful because of the excitement it brings to those who participate, "just look at their faces, I mean that’s, that’s all you gotta do, is just look at their faces."

The group also hosts a handicap Turkey Hunt every spring.
