Gates Sentenced in Sex Crime

A Zanesville man is going to prison for 12 years for sex crimes involving a minor.  The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office reports that 32-year-old Robert Gates was sentenced on multiple charges including gross sexual imposition, pandering obscenity involving a minor and endangering children.   Prosecutors say the offense date is between January 11th and February 6th of 2011.  Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill also classified Gates as a Tier II sex offender.
