Genesis Move Complete
The Genesis Healthcare System move is complete.
Ninety-one patients were transported from the Good Samaritan campus to the new facility. Ambulances arrived at the new Genesis Hospital in four minute rotations. The Genesis Community EMT, and Genesis Healthcare staff came together to coordinate a smooth transition for patients.
Trucks carrying medical equipment traveled on Maple Avenue while ambulance traffic could be seen on Blue Avenue and Bell Street. The Zanesville Police Department was also involved in helping to insure a safe traffic flow for the day. Visiting hours at the new hospital were delayed until 5:00 p.m.
The Good Sam Emergency Department officially closed at 6:00 a.m. and anyone with a medical emergency should report to Genesis Hospital from now on. The hospital looks forward to their first day of full operation June 28.
