George E. Olekas (February 21, 1933 – February 21, 2011)

George E. Olekas, 78, of Zanesville, passed away at 3:08 AM Monday February 21, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital ER.

He was born February 21, 1933 in Cleveland, OH the son of the late John and Mary Cydzik Olekas. George was a Catholic who retired from Manatee Community College in Bradenton, FL. He enjoyed fishing, working jigsaw puzzles and watching sports.

Surviving George is wife of 50 years Barbara J. Bradford Olekas, sons: Michael C. Olekas of Boise, ID and Greg E. (Pam) Olekas of Forks, WA, grandchildren: Greg E. Olekas Jr. and Hannah Olekas, great grandchild: Trent, sister: Theresa (Fred) Salomon of Afton, MO and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and sister: Harriett Smith.

Honoring George’s wishes a caring cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
