Georgia Ann “Georgie” (Thomas) Robinson (April 4, 1940 – July 9, 2016)

ZANESVILLE: Georgia Ann “Georgie” (Thomas) Robinson, 76, of Zanesville, died Saturday, July 9 at the Oaks of Bethesda.
Georgie was born in Zanesville, April 4, 1940, to the late George and Lucille (Michael) Thomas. Her husband, Jon D. (Jack), preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1982.
Survivors include: son, Shawn (Heather) Robinson, of Wilmington, Ohio; daughter, Laura (Mark Szczepkowski) Robinson, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; grandchildren Carrie and Meredith Robinson and Anna and Jack Szczepkowski; sister, Francina “Franny” (Ron) Koverman of Kettering, Ohio; brother- and sister-in-law Bob and Phyllis Robinson of Crown Point, Indiana; nephews Steve (Cindy) Robinson of Vestal, New York; David (Sharon) Robinson of Liberty Township, Ohio; Doug (Jan) Robinson of Appleton, Wisconsin; and Richard (Jamie) Robinson of New Albany, Indiana; five great-nieces (Emily, Morgan and Carol Robinson, Amanda Biscardi and Blake Flarida) and three great-nephews (Andy Robinson, Carl Schottmiller and Josh Underwood); an aunt, Mary Margaret Stockdale of Canton, Ohio; and several cousins on the Michael, Jacobs and Stockdale sides of the family.
Georgie’s family also would like to thank the several family, friends and caregivers who supported, loved and helped her during her life.
A 1958 graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School and a member of the school’s athletics hall of fame, she supported her alma mater as a secretary, treasurer and lifetime trustee of the Bishop Rosecrans Athletics Boosters. She also was involved with St. Nicholas Catholic Church, serving two terms on parish council and as a Eucharistic minister.
Georgie was very proud of her Lebanese heritage. She was a member of the El Binette Club, of which she served as president, secretary, and treasurer.
She also worked for various local lawyers, including John Graham and Mark Watson.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home in Zanesville. A Wake service will be held at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, with the Rev. Martin Ralko officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, Georgie requested donations be made to the Catholic Schools of Zanesville Capital Fund or St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
