Gibbs gets Ready to take on Washington
Congressman elect Bob Gibbs is ready to take on Washington.
Gibbs met with members of the Farm Bureau Thursday morning and has already traveled to DC twice since his election. He was able to meet with the other 100 new members of Congress and discuss their insights into what needs to be done.
"My main core areas are jobs," said Gibbs. "I believe the fix is to number one quit spending money we don’t have, quit borrowing money we don’t have, certaintly not increase taxes."
He also believes that regulations out of Washington are causing business owners to not hire employees and says constituants can expect to see House Committees questioning officials.
"One thing is a lot of oversight hearings. Bringing in adminstration officials and asking them a lot of questions about why they are doing this and why they are doing that and make them answer to some of this and what I think is going over the top," said Gibbs.
Gibbs said he expects there to be obstacles while in Washington, including the fact that the Senate is still under the leadership of the Democratic Party
The Congressman elect also announced he’ll be opening an office on Military Road in Zanesville in January and field representatives will be throughout the district. He’ll be sworn in January 5th.
