Girl Scout Cookie Season is Here

ZANESVILLE, OH –  January not only brings the New Year, it gives people a chance to support their local Girl Scout Troop.

It’s Girl Scout Cookie season and troops across the country are gearing up for one of their biggest fundraisers. Beatrix Brown, a Girl Scout from Troop 8210, said she’s been out to her dad’s office, her neighborhood, and using her link to sell cookies this year.

“You kind of, you actually gain more,” Brown explained. “Because you talk to the people and you understand [some] people like more of this and some people like more of that, so it’s just fun to see what people like.”

Girl Scout cookie booths should start popping up outside local retailers like Walmart, AutoZone, Kroger and Hobby Lobby.

The cookie booths will operate from February 8th until about mid March.

Sydney Hollingsworth, from Girl Scout Troop 8112, says it’s not all just about getting people their favorite sweet treats, it’s about the memories they get to make along the way.

“It’s not really about selling the cookies,” Hollingsworth said. “It’s about getting that money and giving that money back to the Girl Scouts, to allow them to give us some fun activities to do.”

If you know a Girl Scout or Troop you want to support, you can get your cookies directly from them or use their online link.
