Girls Volleyball Team Holds 5K Color Run

Folks of all ages participated in a color run at John Glenn High School.

The girls volleyball team organized the ‘Color Run’ in the effort to raise money toward purchasing new uniforms and equipment.

“It took a lot of planning both of our moms did it together and we bagged colors and separated them, that was really messy but, it was worth it, it was fun,” said Izzy Bricker, Sophomore, John Glenn High School.

The run featured 4 different spray stations plus a water station for the runners if they felt tired or thirsty. Rachel Dettra said it took a lot of work to organize but it was all worth it in the end.

“It was a lot trying to get the route and everything and then it took all the parents and all the people to really put it all together,” said Dettra. “At the end when we were all done running we all grabbed colors and through them up in the air. That was fun.”

Dettra said the team hopes to make this an annual event.
