Golf Enthusiasts Gather for 35th Annual ZDGA Golf Show at Zanesville Country Club
Interviewed by WHIZ reporter Gabe Hutton

Golf enthusiasts from around the area gathered today at the Zanesville Country Club for the 35th annual ZDGA Golf Show.
The event is hosted by the Zanesville District Golf Association, the largest sponsor of amateur golf tournaments in the local area. The organization uses events like the golf show to raise scholarship funds for high school seniors who plan to pursue both golf and higher education in the future.
According to ZDGA board member Lori Buvenchik, the annual show also gives golfers a chance to reconnect after the winter months and prepare for the upcoming season.
“We had the golf show year after year because everybody’s been cramped up all winter. They haven’t been out with their golf buddies. It’s the perfect way to start the season. Getting out on what the area of courses that are here are going to offer this year, seeing what some of the vendors that have, golf equipment, golf, balls, shirts, apparel for the season. And then it’s also a good way to showcase our scholarship winners, which will be here shortly,” Buvenchik stated.
The event featured a wide range of vendors offering golf merchandise and equipment, including clubs, balls, apparel, and other gear for the upcoming season. Attendees also had the chance to participate in raffles for large prizes, browse the latest equipment, and spend time practicing their swings with friends.
Organizers say the event highlights how golf can bring people in the community together, regardless of age or experience level.
“I think Golf is a sport that brings the community together. Whether you’re a junior golfer, a senior golfer, a male or female golfer, this is something for everybody at our show, and it’s something that everybody can unite to join us in supporting area golf,” added Buvenchik.
