Golf Outing for Parkinson’s Disease

Zanesville "All Shook Up" is aiming for a hole in one.

The two month old group will hit the links on June 13th at Vista Golf Course. It’s the group’s first golf tournament. And the money will stay with the group. That is, unless enough is raised to donate.

"Come out to support our Parkinson’s Group because we’re sitting out there and we’re trying to be self-sufficient where we can sit down there, get more exercise equipment for our organization," said secretary Robert Swanson. "Plus if we make enough money we want to give back to the Parkinson’s too."

Swanson said it’s truly a golf for a cause event. The group of 40 meets to do various exercises. He said it’s just a good group that helps each other. Even physical therapists come to support them. "All Shook Up" hopes that the golf outing will help people understand the disease while having some fun at the same time.

"What we’re trying to do is get public awareness that Parkinson’s disease, they’re are support groups and they are people out here that can help," said Swanson. "It is just so great to see those people when they’re exercising. The things they do it just brings the best out of them."

Tee time is set for 8:00 a.m. on the 13th. Food, golf and prizes are included with the $50 entry fee. Swanson said to contact him to register.
