Golf tournament to benefit domestic violence organization

ZANESVILLE, OH- On August 3 the Green Valley Golf Club will host a four-person scramble to raise funds for Transitions, a local non-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence in Muskingum, Morgan and Perry counties.
The event aims to bring awareness to their organization while offering a day of fun and competition. There will be food, beverages, prizes and raffles. Additionally, there are two 5,000-dollar hole in one prize up for grabs.
“This will benefit transitions, which will help with our services not only in our shelter but also in the courts and our hotline, and we have a new text line so we’re trying to promote all of that and do a little fundraising in the community and make people more aware to what it is that we do at Transitions,” said Executive Director at Transitions, Pam Page.
Transitions has been a cornerstone of the community since 1979, providing trauma informed, direct services to those affected by domestic violence.
“I want everyone to know that you shouldn’t be ashamed and not reach out if you need help, please reach out, maybe even just to talk to somebody for a few minutes, maybe you’re not ready to leave your abuser but when you are ready we’re here, if you need help in the courts we’re here or if you just need someone to text to or talk to, we’re here,” said Page.
To participate you must submit your completed form to Sue Loader by July 26. For more information or to register you can visit the ‘Transitions in Zanesville’ Facebook page. Or you can call 740-624-8548.
