Gov. Dewine declares state of emergency in several area counties
COLUMBUS, Ohio--Ohio Governor Mike Dewine announced Monday that he has declared a state of emergency in 20 Ohio counties including several from our area impacted by damaging flooding last month.
The area counties included in the Governor’s emergency proclamation are Muskingum, Guernsey, Morgan, Noble, and Perry.
Dewine said this is a key step in getting these counties the assistance they need after suffering from significant infrastructure damage during storms in February that brought several days of heavy rainfall.
The state of emergency proclamation authorizes various state departments and agencies to work with officials to assist local government in protecting the lives, safety, health, and property of residents in the state.
