Gown Buy, Trade and Swap At Brenwood Salon
School may have just begun, but prom and homecoming are already on the minds of many girls. Brenwood Salon held a buy, trade and swap this afternoon for formal gowns. Brenwood says they made no profit from the event, they just wanted to help save money for the community.
“We are very community minded we do a lot for the community. One of our salon values is community service so she had this idea that with the economy the way it is and thinking green and recycling, that she wanted to do a prom dress or a fashion dress swap so that is how it all came about,” tells Brenda Atwood the owner of the Brenwood Salon.
The gowns ranged from formal evening wear to cocktail dresses. Accessories and shoes were also for sale and for low prices.
“I saw some for $5, I saw some for $150. We have some gowns here that I would say are probably valued around $800, $900 dollars and we have some that are gently worn and some that have been hanging around for a while, so we have a little bit of everything.”
A donation from the sale of these gowns is being made to Transitions Women’s Shelter.
