Grand Opening For Burger King In Zanesville

Crowds braved the cold Saturday morning for the grand opening of Burger King on Maple Avenue in Zanesville.

Construction began in September and Burger King representatives say the renovation cost around $1.3 million. This Burger King is one of the few restaurants to use the new "20/20" design.

"There is only two others like it in the United States, we are the third. It is a homey atmosphere with the dining room, it is a different set up in the kitchen, it is energy efficient," says Jeri Leibman the Restaurant Training Manager.

Burger King representatives say they chose to renovate this Burger King because of the high volume of traffic on Maple Avenue and customers are liking the new design.

"It is modern, I like it, it looks more 2010," tells Alyssa Cottrell as she waited for her Whopper.

Burger King also held a drawing for a free mountain bike from Dr. Pepper and to celebrate its grand opening, It gave away a free Whopper to the first 100 customers. Matt Denny and his family heard about the Whooper give-away and say the Whopper is well worth waiting in line.

"It tastes fresher than McDonalds and stuff, I think it tastes better," says Denny.

Burger King representatives say the new restaurant is bringing more than 45 jobs to the Zanesville area and they are always looking for more workers to apply.
