Green Wave Rolls to Third Consecutive State Title Game

Newark Catholic baseball is championship-bound yet again. The Green Wave tallied three runs in the 4th and one in the 6th and relied on strong pitching to blank Fort Recovery, 4-0, at Huntington Park on Thursday. Gabe Morris earned the win on the mound, throwing six innings of shutout ball. Rob Engle entered in relief to close the door in the 7th.

The Green Wave take on Western Reserve in the state final Saturday at 1 p.m. back at Huntington Park. The Blue Devils fell to Newark Catholic in the state semifinal last season. A win would give the Green and White their eighth state championship and second in the last three years.
