Gus Macker Sponsorship Opportunities

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Excitement is building throughout the community in anticipation of tournament style basketball returning to Zanesville.
Local businesses and organizations are stepping up to secure their sponsorship visibility and Zanesville Gus Macker Committee’s Executive Director Dominique Proctor says sponsorship opportunities are still available.
“Right now we have only one Official Sponsorship at the $3,000 dollar level left,” Proctor said. “12 Event Sponsorships left at the $500 dollar level. And then Community Sponsorships, unlimited at the $150 dollars. My court sponsorships ran out relatively quickly.”
Sponsorships are not limited to onsite recognition but also social media exposure and tournament promotions leading up to the event. Plus they cover the upfront expenses such as licensures, event medical and security services as well as the referees. All finances are handled through Brian Wagner and the Muskingum County Community Foundation.
“That was one of the biggest things I wanted to make sure early on is financial transparency, medical and security,” Proctor said. “I knew that if I at least had those three things set in stone, then the rest of it should move smoothly. Brian’s been a huge help. So you know, if it’s going to them, they have a whole team that audits, that you know, updates me on the balance every week. So I have to go through a chain of command myself. And then we have an agreement with them as well that these related funds are only used for the expenses of Gus Macker.”
With Gus Macker Corporate approving the OUZ-Zane State-YMCA facility as an appropriate tournament site and establishing a spot for Zanesville on their schedule, to local partners coordinating key logistical tournament necessities, the vision of tournament basketball returning to Zanesville is rapidly transforming from speculation into a reality.
