Haddox To Bring In Special Prosecutor In Hickman Case
The investigation into the death of a 14-year-old Zanesville High School incoming freshman is still in the hands of police. But Tuesday Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox confirmed to WHIZ News that he will be bringing in a Special Prosecutor to look into the matter once the Zanesville Police Department finishes its investigation of Grant Hickman. But, Haddox would not say why he is bringing in the out of county Prosecutor in the case. Hickman was found dead early Saturday morning at a home at 364 Taylor Street. Zanesville School officials say alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the teen’s death. Zanesville Police Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says officers continue to interview several juveniles that were present at the time of the incident. No arrests have been made in the case so far. Zanesville City School Officials say once the police report is done they will refer to the schools Code of Conduct Policy to determine the proper punishment for athletes that were at the party the night of the incident.
