AAA’s Senior Public Relations Manager, Kimberly Schwind said motorists should be on the look out for trick-or-treaters.

“If you are a parent and you have kids that are going to be trick or treating, AAA recommends that you accompany them until they are at least 12 years old,” Schwind said. “If you have older trick-or-treaters that are going to be going out, make sure they are going in group. Review the route with them before you send them out trick-or- treating.”

Schwind said it’s really important for trick-or-treaters to be seen. She recommended putting reflective tape on costumes and treat bags, she also said try to stay away from face masks instead, use face paint.

“Make sure you over some safety practices. Always cross at the cross walk and at the corners. Be predictable. Don’t just ran out into the street between cars, because motorist are not expecting that,” Schwind said.

The official Halloween holiday is Monday.
