Harris Guilty in Buy Bust
A Zanesville man plead guilty to three charges Monday in connection with an October 2009 drug buy bust.
39-year-old Michael Harris pled guilty to one count of third-degree-felony trafficking in cocaine, one count of fourth-degree-felony possession of cocaine and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.
In return for the guilty plea, a fifth-degree-felony charge of permitting drug abuse will be dropped at sentencing.
Harris was arrested October 29, 2009 in the area of Underwood Street and the Veterans Memorial Bridge. Officers say a patrol unit stopped Harris and found between 10 and 100 grams of powder cocaine.
Judge Mark Fleegle ordered a pre-sentence investigation and continued Harris’ bond at $100,000.
He’s currently being held in the Muskingum County Jail.
