Hartmeyer pleads not guilty to child pornography charges

ZANESVILLE,Ohio–A former Muskingum County Sheriff’s Deputy charged with eight felony counts related to child pornography appeared in court Wednesday for an arraignment hearing.
According to the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office, 61-year-old Tim Hartmeyer, who is the president of the Police Athletic League in Zanesville, pleaded not guilty to charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor and illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance .
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said an investigation started on March 16th after his office received a complaint in reference to child pornography.
Lutz said a search warrant was obtained and Hartmeyer’s home on Stanway Drive was searched.
Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill continued Hartmeyer’s bond at $500,000.
