Head Injuries Seminar To Be Held
The rise of head injuries in athletes made one area doctor want to teach of the dangers.
Dr. James Gasparine of Sports Medicine Zanesville is presenting to parents, athletes and coaches the dangers of concussions during a seminar July 11th.
"They’re much more of a concern when you look at them for a younger population. So with the high schools and with the middle schools kids, so just more of an education for the general public," said Gasparine.
Gasparine says the information he will present will be very important to anyone who may encounter a head injury at some point.
"It’s more like signs and symptoms, you know how to recognize a concussion if you get a concussion, more what to do. What are things that you need to be worried about, good warning signs for mom and dad to see. What to do if a concussion happens from a treatment standpoint and when can kids can get back to play basically," said Gasparine.
