Head on Collision on S.R. 93

A call came in shortly before 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening of a head on collision on S.R. 93

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said it happened when a Silver Jeep Liberty veered left of center and struck an oncoming Ford F-150. State Route 93 was backed up for close to an hour as crews worked to clear the scene.

The patrol reported that both drivers were transported but they were both awake at the time of transport.

Two cars were involved in a head on collision near Avondale this evening.

It occurred on State Route 93 just before 5:00 p.m. Newton Township Fire and Rescue and the State Highway Patrol responded. The silver Jeep Liberty was heading Southbound on 93 when the driver went left of center and struck the silver Ford F-150 which was traveling Northbound.

Both drivers were transported to Good Samaritan hospital and were awake at the time. There was extensive front end damage to the vehicles and airbags deployed in both. North and Southbound traffic was delayed for at least 15 minutes while the cars were recovered.
