Heath Named ZAAP Gallery Artist of the Month
ZANESVILLE, OH – Brayden Heath has been named the ZAAP Gallery Artist of the Month.
Heath was named Artist of the Month, 4 years ago and says his style has definitely changed in that time. He says his art style has always been abstract, but now features more realism within his works.
“[There was] A lot of abstract, a lot of black and white, just more negative space, then this,” Heath said. “I feel like I wasn’t as serious as I am now. We’ve had a huge change in the last 4 years, for sure.”
Heath said some of the pieces he created for this show came from places of anger and sadness. He said it’s okay to show these emotions because we’re all human and nobody’s perfect.
“In life, we all go through several emotions, I think that there’s a lot of pain, regret and loss.” Heath explained. “But there’s a lot of things like joy and love that we experience as well and I would love to see everyone, really just start embodying all their emotions and not just the emotions they display for main society. It’s really important to express that mental health matters and mental health awareness matters,” said Heath.
The ZAAP Gallery will be a lively place to be for the First Friday Artwalk. There will be live music, drinks and light refreshments. The ZAAP Gallery is located at 625 Main St. in Downtown Zanesville.
