Hill Enters Ohio Governor’s Race

ZANESVILLE,OH – A Morgan County Business woman is throwing her hat in the ring to be Ohio’s next Governor.

Heather Hill was born and raised in Morgan County, where she had dreams of making the place she grew up better. Hill said one of the things that prompted her to want to run for governor was the loss of two of her foster children.

“Two of my foster children were shot and killed by law enforcement and at that time I had people that were contacting me,” Hill explained. “Asking me if I would consider running, to bridge the gap between law enforcement and people with mental illnesses.”

Hill said the voters she’s already spoken with are ready for a change and she says she is prepared to be a change agent. She said she represents those who have to work hard, fight and struggle everyday just to make ends meet.

“The main thing I am going to be doing is bringing common sense back to the Governor’s Office. There are so many things that we’re facing as Ohioans, one of the things that I’m definitely going to be working on is making sure that parents have constant communication with education and healthcare for their children,” Hill said. “As well as they have every opportunity to be the ones who make the decisions for their children, I will be working on that. I will also be working on doing some tax things for Ohio as far as, making sure that people that are at retirement ages are able to keep their properties, making sure that young people are able to afford property tax, because that is a big thing that we’re facing right now.”

Hill will be running as a Republican against Vivek Ramaswamy and Dave Yost in the 2026 Primary Election.
