Home of Blue Devil Football sees Renovation
Phase two of Sulsberger Stadium’s upgrade is well underway.
The press box is currently undergoing renovations that began in earlier this year. Athletic Director for Zanesville City Schools Scott Aronhalt said he believes the changes will show the community the potential of the facility.
“We’re pleased,” said Aronhalt. “We think with the renovation of the press box, the addition to the scoreboard… there are probably bigger facilities in Ohio but we don’t think they’re are any that are any nicer than Sulsberger Stadium. ”
The improved press box will feature a completely glass wall facing the field, heating and air conditioning as well as state of the art equipment for the media to use to televise games. The renovations will total approximately a quarter of a million dollars and Aronhalt said that Superintendent Terry Martin’s vision and many other dedicated people helped to make sure the cost of the project would be covered.
“We’ve been able to do this through private donations and through left over building money which can only be used for these kinds of projects and the heart and soul has been our Sulsberger Committee,” said Aronahlt. “We have volunteers in the community who have formed a committee have been adamant about making this one of the top facilities in Ohio.”
The estimated date of completion is Aug. 15 and according to Aronhalt they are right on schedule to finish on time.
