Homeless Hands of Zanesville Opens Community Center
ZANESVILLE, OH – A new space full of hope just opened its doors in Zanesville.
Homeless Hands of Zanesville held a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 7th for their new Community Center. The non-profit organization is dedicated to rebuilding the lives of those experiencing homelessness. The new center offers showers, computer access, a dining area, and more, all designed to give comfort, connection, and resources to those who need it most.
“We have a media center to help with job applications for anybody in the community to use. We found that people get intimidated by online applications and they will not fill them out if they have to. So, we thought if they had a place where they can do that, that’ll be helpful. They can also get food and dinner here. Our hours will mostly be evening hours. We have a public shower. We have a vending machine to collect quarters so they can go next door and do laundry,” Homeless Hands Executive Director Tammy Clark said.
Homeless Hands of Zanesville has been working hard to support the community and with this new space, they’re hoping to make even a bigger impact.
“Any help that people need to get back on their feet they can come here. We have a little thrift store area that will be open just one day a week,” Clark said. “They can come in here, stay warm. We are also a warming and cooling station for the winter and summer times.”
The Community Center is located at 1351 Greenwood Avenue in Zanesville. For more details and information, visit Homeless Hands of Zanesville online.
