Hurst tabbed as Tornadoes’ head football coach

The West Muskingum Tornadoes have made great strides toward strengthening their athletic program.
Add a new head football coach to that list.
Lee Hurst has been tabbed to lead West M’s football program. The Massillon graduate is entering his 11th season coaching football and third stint as a head coach. Hurst briefly played for Kent State before injuries derailed his playing days and commenced his coaching career.
West Muskingum’s athletic program has made several major changes within the past year. Former John Glenn and Michigan State football standout Aaron Bates was hired as athletic director last July, and West Muskingum Schools recently ended its “pay to participate” program that had been in effect since the 2008-09 school year.
Hurst replaces Jeremy Ketcham, who resigned from his post in December following a 5-55 combined record in six seasons at the helm.
