I.D.’s for Children at the Fair

The fair always brings large crowds and it can be hard to keep track of your child.

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office knows how scary it can be to lose your little one so they feature a way to get information about you child to the authorities quickly, making the odds they’re found safe higher.

“What it is, is you bring you child in to our Sheriff’s tent and we have a camera there and we’ll take a photo of your child and then we have an I.D. Card, about the size of a driver’s license,” said Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz. “It’s a hard card. We put on there, the information. The child’s name, address, the picture will be on there, and then we also take a digital thumb print. It’s just another tool that gives us a better chance of trying to identify a missing or go find a missing child and have that much quicker.”

The Sheriff’s Office’s tent is located near the main entrance and they are available for I.D. creation from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
