Illegal Items Found during Traffic Stop

New Lexington Police said they’ve taken a 35-year-old Crooksville man into custody.

Around 3am Wednesday police stopped a driver on Broadway.

The driver had outstanding warrants in both Muskingum and Franklin counties.

The driver was arrested and a K-9 was walked around the vehicle.

The K-9 alerted on the vehicle and a search took place.

Officers recovered suspected meth and other illegal items including a loaded handgun.

Police say an investigation is ongoing.
