International Strategy Session
Ohio University Zanesville hosted an international strategy session this afternoon.
Dr. Lorna Jean Edmonds, the vice provost for global affairs at Ohio University and Dr. Jenifer Cushman, the Zanesville campus dean and member of the senior international management team for Ohio Unversity met with faculty of OUZ today to discuss the university’s international strategy according to campus interests and capacity.
"The goal of this meeting is to think about what we’re doing on Ohio University Zanesville and how it connects with the larger mission of Ohio University and south eastern Ohio. How do we think more broadly about what it is that we do at the university in general and what is our Zanesville nesh within that."
Edmonds says that the Zanesville campus is one of their leading campuses in terms of investment in internationalization which will benefit students in years to come.
"Students who graduate from your campus, one in five will work an international trait, in this century. It is growing global is local and local is global. And if you want to be part of the global knowledge economy, it’s really important that Zanesville as a campus helps your produce that next generation of leaders that will help Zanesville be on the global map, not just on the local map."
The Zanesville campus currently has 17 international faculty members that represent 12 different countries.
