It’s a Garden Party

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum Valley Garden Society will be holding their 22nd Annual ‘Spring Fever Home Garden Symposium’ Saturday at the OUZ-Zane State Campus Center.
Muskingum Valley Garden Society Secretary Beth Brown talked about the event and explained how the public can benefit by attending.
“The reason we do the symposium is because one of our missions is to educate the public and we also do beautification,” Brown said. “So we bring in a lot of different speakers just to talk to everyone and share their knowledge. It’s a wonderful event, so come get your spring on and come see us. Registration begins at 7:30 in the morning to 8:30. And then our event starts at 8:30.”
The event will feature a silent auction filled with various gardening items in addition to a full slate of gardening experts, who will be there to share their expertise on a wide range of gardening topics.
“A lot of us are feeling spring right now, especially with the beautiful day we have today,” Brown said. “Temperatures tomorrow are going to be a little bit chilly, so we’re all kind of anxious to start doing things. So come tomorrow, get some ideas on how to start preparing for your garden or learn bee-keeping or you know, start learning how to forage herbs in your area. But it’s just a nice day, a lot of nice people. Everyone who comes is just anxious for spring, we’ve got that spring fever.”
The event will take place at the OUZ-Zane State Campus Center, located at 1425 Newark Road. Tickets are $45 dollars, which includes a continental breakfast and full lunch buffet.
