It’s Seniors VS. Juniors in the Annual Banker’s Night Game
It’s one…two..three strikes you’re out… of time to make the Muskingum Valley Old Timers’ Annual Banker’s Night fundraiser at Gant Stadium.
First pitch was just after 7 this evening as the Senior Pioneers took on the Juniors all in the name of raising money for the Old Timers Baseball Association.
“We raise money for the Muskingum Valley Old Timer’s Association which we put in a lot of hours and a lot of days,” said President Patrick Bollinger. “Everybody thinks they come to the ball park, you play the game and that’s it. We’re on the job 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. ”
The game also featured prizes and giveaways. Lucky fans went home with gift cards from local restaurants as well as Columbus Zoo and Kennywood tickets. The proceeds earned will help to maintain baseball programs in the Muskingum Valley area.
“The money goes right back into the stadium to make sure that the up-keep on the stadium and it goes for balls, books, our goes for all the equipment we buy for the other teams and stuff,” said Bollinger.
The night ended with a Junior Pioneer victory which guarantees bragging rights until the next match next year.
