James Andrew “Andy” Boetcher 1952 – 2017

James Andrew “Andy” Boetcher, 64 of Zanesville, died 4:11 PM, Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Genesis Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born Tuesday, October 7, 1952, in Zanesville, the son of Jim F. Boetcher and Sally J. (Hempfling) Boetcher.
Andy was Catholic by Faith and was a veteran of the United States Army, who proudly served his country. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and panning for gold and was a member of the Roseville American Legion. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather who greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Andy is survived by his companion: Kathy Claypool of Crooksville; four sons: Joshua Boetcher of Reynoldsburg, Jason Mayle of Zanesville, Michael (Kyla) Smitley of Mt. Perry, and Brandon Claypool of Crooksville; four grandchildren: Aidan, Keyon, Rye-Leigh and Braxton; one sister: Julie (Gary) Schmitt of Hilliard; three brothers: Mike (Patty) Boetcher of Nashport, Chris (JoAnn) Boetcher of Zanesville, and Marty (Ron Chambers) Boetcher of Howland; extended family members: Peggy Frisbee of Crooksville, Shawn (Sharon Mobley) Claypool of Stringtown, Eric Claypool of Crooksville, Ron & Cindy Harrison of Zanesville, Ryan (Kim) Harrison of Somerset, Nick (Debbie) Fosco of Columbus, Racheal (Dave) Johnson of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his wife: Lois A. Boetcher and one brother: John Boetcher.
In accordance with Andy’s wishes a cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the American Legion Post 29, 27 South Third Street, Zanesville.
