James Named Artcoz Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, OH – Cheryl James had been named the Artcoz Artist of the Month for February.

James is the owner, and resident artist, of the Rustic Farmhouse where she creates pieces using chalk and acrylic paints.

She said the chalk paint is how she came up with the idea for the Rustic Farmhouse.

“The Rustic Farmhouse was actually imagined by me last fall,” James said. “I have a line of chalk paint that I used down in Florida and I couldn’t get it here and I searched everywhere. I had to have a store to carry it and thought that it just fit right into my plan.”

James features gifts, decorations, and wooden kitchen pieces made by her son in her studio.

“Black Tree is my son’s company and he makes wood cutting boards, book rests, as well as other items,” James said. “He makes them only with high quality hardwood like maple, oak, and walnut. We sell them here exclusively.”

James said as a part of the first Friday Art Walk her Valentines Day pieces will be 20% off. She will also do some live demonstrations on how to refurbish old furniture.
