John A. Nader (September 10, 1920 – April 17, 2011)

HILLIS & HARDWICK FUNERAL HOME OBIT:

John A. Nader, 90 of Zanesville , OH died 1:10 PM Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Emeritus at North Hills Zanesville following a long illness .

He was born Friday, September 10, 1920 in Zanesville the son of Azar J. and Mary (Rossi) Nader.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church where he was very active with the Festival and served as an usher. John served in the United States Air Force during World War II and was Co-owner of A. J. Nader & Sons from the age of 8 years old in 1928 until the store closed in 1997. He also enjoyed all kinds of sports.

In addition to his wife Lois Jean ( Bowers ) Nader of 55 years he is survived by three children Jay (Karen) Nader of Hebron, Azar (Janene) Nader of Cincinnati, and Joni (Robert) Herr of Columbus. Four grandchildren Jordan Nader, Lydia Nader, Stephen Herr and Lauren Herr. Four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Four siblings Emeline Wine, Joseph A. (Sandy) Nader, Mansor A. Nader and Evelyn Winters. John was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a sister Sadie Corry and two brothers Phillip A. Nader and Albert A. Nader.

Friends may call Wednesday April 20th from 2-4 & 6-8pm with Christian Vigil service at 7:45pm at Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. where Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, April 21, 2011with Rev. Mr. B. N. Petereson officiating. Burial will conclude with Military honors in the Mt. Olive Cemetery Zanesville OH .

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave. Zanesville. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at the Emeritus at North Hills for their care for John for the last three years.
