John & Annie Glenn Museum Celebrates John Glenn's 95th Birthday

NEW CONCORD, Ohio- John Glenn will be 95 years old on July 18th, 2016 and in honor of him, the John and Annie Glenn Museum of New Concord will be opening the museum to the public on Sunday, July 17, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. free of charge.

“Anytime after 1 p.m. you can walk into the very house that John Glenn lived in,” said Joanna Duncan, John and Annie Glenn, Education Director. “You’ll enter right up through the front of the door as John Glenn did when he got home from school. You will then go right into the house and tour the first floor, then go down the stairs to the classroom and have some birthday refreshments.”

For John Glenn’s 90th birthday, Duncan said that they put in a friendship garden behind the museum in memory of Friendship Seven.

Duncan said that there are bricks that can be purchased by the public so you could get your very own name engraved on the bricks in the garden.

Duncan said there is limited space for bricks in the garden and cost per brick is $62 in memory of the 1962 Friendship Seven flight.

For more information stop by the John and Annie Glenn Museum on 72 W Main St in New Concord or give them a call at (740) 826-0220.
