John McIntire Library Offering Curbside Pick-up During Closure
Zanesville,OH- Those that have stopped by the John McIntire Library this week have found their doors locked.
The library is in the process of downsizing to a smaller location within the Carnegie Wing as they prepare for a 16-18 month remodel of the John McIntire Library. The library is hoping during their week-long closure and moving into the remodel that patrons take advantage of their curbside service.
We started during Covid, but sometimes people forget about it,” explained MCLS Executive Director Stacey Russell. “This allows people while we are closed this week to continue to pick up holds//edit// They can just pull in and call our number (740) 453-0391 and call for curbside and we’ll have a staff member bring out their item to them.”
Holds can be placed through the Muskingum County Library’s website. Construction on the library begins in full after November 21.
“They’ve already started some construction. We had someone here today removing some windows and doors for us, so they are already doing some things,” said Russell.
The “Mini Mac” version of John McIntire Library will open on Monday, November 11. Mini Mac will act just like a branch location. You can place and pick up holds, use a computer or wi-fi, print or scan documents, get technology help and browse and discover new items to checkout. Mini Mac will be accessible from the north parking lot between the library and I-70 using the ramp and door closest to Fifth Street.
