Josephine J. Chandler 1927 – 2017

Josephine J. Chandler, 90 of Zanesville, died peacefully, Thursday, August 17, 2017, at her home. She was born Sunday, February 6, 1927 in Zanesville, the daughter of George Curtis and Hattie (Earley) Johnson and was married to Leroy Chandler who preceded her in death.

 

Josephine was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.

 

Josephine is survived by her daughter Garlanda Chandler of Zanesville; two grandchildren: Aeratina (Jason) Graves of Columbus and Kymm Chandler of Zanesville; four great grandchildren: Awnika Graves, Jaylon Graves, Kaviaughn Chandler and Quincy Chandler; extended family by love: Andrea Collins, Allison Wiseman, Xavier Harris and Xandria Harris, Brittany Dalton, Anthony Scaduto and Mark Mitchell all of Zanesville; one brother: Fredrick Johnson of Zanesville; two nieces: Helen Marie Wade and Doreen Winfield; one nephew: Ernest Curtis. The Chandler Family would like to the caregivers Trinity Home Health:  Norma McGowan, Genesis Home Nurse: Marcina Silver and Caryn Gorby and the staff of Central Ohio Geriatrics for the special care and love they provided to Josephine.

 

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death three brothers: Al Gene Curtis, Edward “Boots” Curtis and Ernest Fisher; three sisters: Inez Curtis, Grace Merriman and Helen Hudson

 

Friends may call two hours prior to funeral service from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM, Monday, August 28, 2017, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, with Rev.
